That said, if what you need is a clip launcher or if you work a lot with hardware synths, need a sequencer and don't want to use Ableton, I'd recommend the Novation Launchpad series. This is definitely for people who like to put together clips in clip view - in arrangement view it's fairly much without any application, but if you want to quickly get stuff together to then bring over to arrangement view, or if you're the sort of person who enjoys live finger-drumming or live playing straight to arrangement, then this works pretty well for the job.
